How sure are you that the oil pump scavenge o ring is seated properly?

Pretty sure, I check and doubled checked that. Would it cause this symptom if it wasn't?

If not sealed correctly it could cause sumping. Oil isn't properly evacuated from the crankcase and would cause the bike to be sluggish at higher RPMs.

Its called wet sumping. I had it happen on my 02 electraglide when an O ring didn't seat right. Systems were over heating and poor gas mileage. Never got it 60 mph as it over heated just riding around the neighbor hood. The dealer had put gear drive cams in for me and this started after their work. Took it back and they made it right....

Another check- take a close look at the CV diaphragm- it may have a pinhole, keeping the slide down, instead of getting out of the way during acceleration, it creates a huge choke point in the intake.

I had a similar problem, prior to doing my 107" build. Turned out to be a fuel pump, just couldn't deliver enough gas for the high load/medium to high rpm. Ran strong in all lower gears. Fuel pump or fuel filter is a possibility.

Thanks for all the help guys!!!

I pulled the bike out this morning and let it warm up. While idling I sprayed some cleaner around each intake seal and the round seal from the carb to the intake. The rpm's dropped when sprayed around the intake seals and the bike died when I sprayed the carb to intake seal. So I know I have an intake leak. I'll check all the suggested areas also while i'm replacing the intake seals.

Thanks again for all the help.

Finally above freezing here in AL so got the bike out for a quick test ride today after getting the intake leak fixed. I tried the power issue in every gear and the power stops around half throttle. Below half throttle it will snap your neck back but after that no power. I would describe the feeling like pulling a trailer. The bike will accelerate but it's very slow. Maybe a clogged carb jet?

That's what I'm thinking. Bike starts, idles great and around town runs really well. It's just when you give it a lot of throttle it just looses power.
