Just because you CAN post something on the internet doesn't necessarily mean you SHOULD post something on the internet. So take a chill pill, give the dealer some time, and don't be so damn anxious to start throwing stones at the dealer.

Not yet, anyway.

or people don't read content but rather skim over what they want to see

to the OP. Is this a new or used bike? What is the total mileage if used?

"is" there a warranty involved?

You don't clear a trouble code and call it fixed. There is something causing this and they need to get to the bottom of it. That's what they're being paid to do.

Agreed, but it doesn't always happen instantly. He's under a week with this problem, and it may take a while. The dealer doesn't have to throw everything down to take care of one thing. That's my point.

Sheesh. Patience people.

Failure codes are stored for exactly this reason...to help diagnose intermittent problems. Nearly any wrench can diagnose hard failures.,,eventually. But, the intermittent ones, especially with all the electronics, can be a PITA to diagnose.

They should have replaced the O2 sensor..,that's what the diagnostic code was saying.

+ 1 and to do that all you have to do is remove the right side cover and switch the plugs. No muss no fuss.

not necessarily. the fault could lie with anything that is in the circuit of the o2 sensor. just replacing the sensor is not really troubleshooting the problem either. if there is a wire that has gotten pinched and is not really making a good circuit, you can get that same code. replace the sensor, and you'll still get the same code. you've got to trace that circuit and make sure that everything in that line is good.

What causes the P0131 code?
P0131 can be caused by a variety of issues:

Failed Oxygen sensor
Damage or unplugged wiring
Open or short
Improperly reading coolant temp sensor
Failed heater circuit for oxygen sensor
Most commonly the sensor has simply failed due to age and wear
