Default Kappa review

Hi all,
I always take your advice and have just fitted some infiniti kappa speakers to my ride (part of the winter project).
As always, you guys were spot on with the advice

I took some sound bites and some decibel readings before the install to try and quantify the change.
I am no stereo expert and only have a basic system:
Boom fairing speakers/ hogtunes lowers and amp plus the hogtunes tweeter pod.
It sounded ok but just swapping the boom speakers for the kappas has made a HUGE difference. I now only need half on the volume control, the quality is cristal clear and even at full volume i have no distortion.

I am very happy - all thanks to you on the forum.
Have a great xmas and new year.

How was the install of the speakers in the fairing? I have a amp and will be getting the kappas. From the videos I’ve seen looks like it can be a pita.

Get the adapters and Install is a breeze. I have them with a Soundstream PN4.1000d amp and the are loud. At 75MPH my son listens to my stereo while on the freeway.

Don’t think everyone is on the same page with this. Those adapters are for pre-Rushmore bikes, and I believe Tpcowfish was referring to the plastic speaker housing inside the Rushmore fairings.

To mount the Kappas in your speaker pods you will have to take the pod apart and mount them on the inside. If mounted on the outside like the stock speakers are, the surrounds on the Kappas will run and tear. Only other option is to use the Biketronics pod eliminator brackets.

^^^^ This.

I had the surrounds wear through on two of the Kappas before I learned my lesson. To their credit Infinity replaced them under warranty no questions asked.

To mount them inside you'll need to do some trimming of the internal strengthening webs in the pods. Not a big task... a Dremel, tin snips, lots of ways to get it done.

You'll be pleased with the results
