2014 Ultra Ltd.
Battery flat, jump started and rode it for twenty minutes. Parked and tried to jump again and ran but was on one cylinder and no revs.
Replaced battery and tried to start and it wont run, no revs again.
Use a battery charger to refresh the battery. The on board charging system is designed only to maintain a charge. It may well be that your battery is toast. Do that first and go from there.
Jump starting can reek havoc on your charging system. Mine was completely dead once and I jumped it off and rode it home. Cost me two regulators and a stator the next week.
This happened to me on my girl. I dont have a rushmore model, but when it happened to me it ended up being a fuel injector and my engine temp switch. Do check for codes though that should tell. Also like SBates08 said how did you jump your bike. You might have fried your battery and other components.
Hmm, I had to jump start my 14 LTD, and never had a problem after, from a running Chevy p/u truck ?I would try and read the codes, if any
Consider yourself lucky. You can hook up to a running vehicle to help charge the battery but always turn the jump vehicle off before trying to start the bike. If you leave the jump vehicle running you run the risk of frying your charging system.
For jump starting vehicles, whether a four wheeled or bigger vehicle, or a motorcycle, they make 'jump boxes' which are about the size of a large 'smart' phone or a little bigger...seems to have taken most of the risk out of jump starting a bike...a good investment for a hundred bux, more or less...
