Compression releases

Food for thought: you'll end up paying about $80 to get your current heads milled for manual releases. I picked up a set of 103 heads off a 2012 Ultra that only had 1,200 miles on it for $200 (shipped) off eBay for my own big bore project. It's already milled for Automatic Compression Release (ACRs), so the cost isn't that much more and I end up with an essentially brand new top end. I will have to grab the factory ACR harness for about $40 and reflash the ECU, but the ECU would have to be reflashed anyways.
Another consideration: if you picked up a second set of heads (any factory 103 should be milled for ACRs) you could send that set out to be ported for $299 at Big Boyz and still be riding your bike while you're waiting for the heads to get worked over. Then after you're done with the big bore project sell your current heads for $130ish to recoup some of the costs.

I’m from Canada and it’s snowing so I have 3 months yet before I can ride ...I looked on eBay and by the time I buy a used set with our exchange I may as well just get mine machined it will be cheaper. I just thought I’d try to get away from putting them in and if all else fails put a 1.4 kw starter in if I have problems.I was just wondering what people’s thoughts and experiences were with the 204’s in a 103 without decompressors.
