Your fuel filter should come with a ribbed hose. Some people don't replace and continue using their old hose but I highly recommend replacing it with the new provided hose. These hoses sometimes develop pinholes in them when changing out the filter so be careful handling these.

If you do end up requiring a fuel pressure test, most small independent shops can test this for you or you can buy your own. It's a very simple procedure.

Keep in mind the symptoms you described to the forum and recommendations provided was purely based on the information you gave. BUT ... it could be caused by many other factors.

Autozone loans fuel gauges, could be bad gas, drain it and offer it to the mower or snow blower.

We just had a similar issue at the shop had us all scratching our heads. Someone suggested changed the spark plugs, it fixed the problem. Sometimes it’s so simple.

Try some Sea Foam. Perhaps the gas is crap.

Check the plug wire to the front cylinder. I have seen them short out on the bottom of the fuel tank. A little split loom over the wire will prevent this from happening.

I forgot about that, I had the dealer warranty the front wire. When I got home, I put some split loom tubing on it.
