Stage 1 for a 2017 Road King - suggestions?
So after spending $10-15k pimping out my last bike I swore I wouldn't do the same with this one. I planned to leave it stock. BUT - you know what this crack addiction is like. I'm looking for input on tuner/air/pipes combo for this bike. I have a few ideas but curious to hear other ideas.

Just something to think about.
Starting with the 2017 model year the Mothership signed a consent agreement with the EPA agreeing to keep emissions in line with their guidelines.
The reason I point this out is that it can mean that aftermarket modifications, especially tuners, can cause warranty issues.
That means that things like removing the catalytic converter or using a tuner that will allow an engine to be tuned outside EPA guidlines can allow the MoCo to void your warranty.
HD does have the parts to go stage 4 or 5 but the approved parts all still fall within guidelines.
Of course you can get parts and do whatever you wish tò your bike and nothing may ever happen but the risk is there.

Well here's my combo. I like the ventilator over the ram since it gives enough air and a lot more leg room. The mods allow me to go anywhere up if I want and are all EPA compliant. There is a Youtube clip that has 4 or 5 different slip ons and shows the difference in sound and looks on all of them. I am fond of the S&S MK45's, but thats personal preference.

All mufflers sound different, get ones you have listen to on someone else's Bike that sounds good to you.
If you like your air cleaner, you can keep your air cleaner, just put a K&N air filter into the air cleaner.
Get a good tuner, have it tuned by someone who knows how to tune it correctly.
Ride it, and enjoy the Bike.

The SEPST and KN did make a gain, Its not like night and day but yes.
The slip ons made a Huge improvement in sound and the overall enjoyment of this bike.
I need to vent cause Im a little butt hurt. The bike Im on is running great, None of the issues many folks are having. But its not the bike I wanted. I had the bike I wanted, it was a stage III that ran strong, I spent over 13K in upgrades and was my dream bike. it lasted 15,500 miles and took a crap on me. It was my choice to walk away from it, but man sometimes its depressing. To make myself feel better Im sure a new CVO Road Glide is in my future.

If you care about your warranty, then if you do any work that requires you to retune the bike, you must use a Screamin' Eagle Pro Street Tuner, and no other tuner. And, the Pro Street Tuner only has maps available for Harley-Davidson parts. If you use any other aftermarket parts, as long as they're pretty close to stock in how they work, then the Pro Street Tuner can probably get you pretty close to a good tune.
However, if you use a non-catalytic exhaust system, or a non-Harley cam, or anything stronger than that, then a Pro Street Tuner will not be able to give you a satisfactory tune. If you then use an aftermarket tuner module, your factory warranty on the powertrain is void, as is the powertrain portion of your ESP, if any.
Unless you're serious about making your bike a real pavement rippler, go all SE parts and sleep well at night.
