Default '74 electra glide questions

I recently picked up newer style hand controls from a shop. I'm not sure what they came off of but were around 94-96. I was already wanting to switch to a banjo style brake line. This master cylinder does have the banjo fitting on it. My question is am I going to need to do anything different with the stock caliper to be able to run that style hose or will it be a direct fitment? If I will need to make changes what would be my options?

On the other side. The bike has an s&s carb on it. Though I'm not exactly sure which model. With the new controls I got the dual cables. I was just curious, so i tried to install them but the cables that came with the controls did not even come close to working. Does anyone know for sure what the stock length the cables should be on a 74? That will give me about an idea on which route I am going to take. I might just get a kit for custom length cables and do it all myself but I would rather find something I can just order and throw on in case of issues in the future.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer. Again I'm new to the harley world so if there is any information I'm missing that someone needs to answer any of my questions just let me know. This was a hand me down when my old man passed last year. But I'm trying to make it my own.

Your best bet is to repost your questions down in the shovelhead section. You'll get better responses down there. I'll take a shot though.

I think the bore of the shovel master cylinder is different than the one you are replacing it with (94-96 came off an EVO). I doubt your caliper is going to be compatible. The hose might fit but I doubt it will work correctly.

Call the people at Barnett cables for your throttle cable and tell them what you have and what you want to do. They know all the lengths and can make up what you want. You better double check your plan with that new master cylinder first though.
