Glad I could help a little bit. Thats a nice setup. I took 2.5" out of the shifter and brake to bring my feet back. I really liked it but it was really hard to find N (i dont run a heel shifter) and the brake lost enough leverage it made it difficult to really use effectively. The flatter angle of the brake pad is SO MUCH better though.
If I was going to do it again I think I'd try 1.5" instead.
I finally gave up on my experiment and bit the expensive bulltet for Boosted Brad mid controls. Had to get a new pipe too. I'll update soon when I can install them.

 

Back from vacation with the family. Got the pushrod dialed in and rear axle tightened. Fingers crossed no more oil leaks

Thanks. It's almost there. I have a flush front axle and rear chain drive to install. After that its mids. That should be it for this bike for a while.

What mids are you looking at?? Just curious. Currently on a Dyna and can’t see myself with floorboards if I go the Touring route.

 

 

Started my mid install this weekend. Boosted brad. So far so good. The pipe side is more involved lol.

 

Just curious, why did you choose this set-up over another like Big Bear?

 

The short answer is no real reason other than I like the looks better, and found this setup used so saved some money....

.....(although the seller (NOT brad) forgot to send me stuff and he bent something so it actually isnt gonna save me money, and I wouldve been better off buying new, but that was the idea at the beginning lol...oh well)
I think Big Bears solution is a little easier using the dyna mounts, but I didnt really like the two shifter linkages, looks weird. You can also drill the primary out but thats another $500.
They both work and accomplish the same thing, so I'd just pick whatever you like the look of and whatever you can affford.
Honestly, finding and picking a pipe that works is the hardest part.
