Default Muffler swap

I bought a set of stock muffler (slip on's) from a 2011 RD King was thinking of taking out the baffles and slipping on my 2000 Electra Glide Classic EFI which has boring stock mufflers, has anyone done this? I'm not touching intake at this time.

Default Sort of did that

I put 2012 RK mufflers on my 04 Ultra. The newer mufflers for cat exhaust are more free flowing and sound pretty good as is on older bikes. Try them stock for a while, you might like it. They get a little louder over time too.

just my opinion, but mufflers that have had the baffles removed and nothing replaced sound like crap. they get all 'blatty' sounding, and not pleasant at all. to me, the sound is more about the tone than it is about the volume.

a quiet rumble is much nicer than a loud 'blat' anyday

l did pretty much the same. Put mufflers off a 2010 on my 2002 road king. Inexpensive and sounds great to me.

But there are so many that are ill informed and uneducated on the subject... I always challenge said person to ride behind a bike without baffles for a while, then see how they feel.
