Default Right side muffler within rear rubber mount very slightly loose

2006 Harley Ultra
Very slightly loose within the rubber in the vertical plane (up and down, not side to side) on right side muffler rear bracket, under saddlebag. The left muffler has no such play. I never examined either right or left side before today.

I wonder if this slight amount of play, perhaps 1/16th inch or less is worth attending to, since the right side is not as solid as the left. My service manual, muffler section, offers no guidance on this at all.

Thank you for any advice you might offer.

two things you can do about that, 1 is to replace the rubber hanger, 2nd is to slide a penny under it to tighten it up. Either way it's a cheap fix.,,,

Mine was on the left side. I slid a small piece of metal under it to snug it up. Like Cahuna says, " cheap fix"

Mine was the left side, replaced the rubber... the rubber hardens up and gets a little slack in it. I just replaced both while doing oil change, i want to say it was 10 bucks.

Mine are both loose and have been that way for years. By all means tighten up as suggested; or replace both rubbers, which are cheap enough; or leave as is and check every now and then. Don't suffer any sleepless nights!

Some have been known to Zip tie it while on the road if it's loose and squeaking...

Just replaced both of mine earlier this year, cheap and easy and parts were stocked at dealer. Why rig it for less than $10
