I finally pulled the trigger and ordered some Cycle Smith's Banana boards for my road glide. I know a couple guys that have them and I just couldn't resist it anymore as I'm someone who likes... Loves long trips and all sorts of room for my feet. Along with the boards I bought lowers, floorboard extensions to move them out and a kuryakin brake pedal. The Kuryakin brake pedal, the one made for bikes with lowers, isn't really any longer than the factory pedal, it just lowers it. My concern is, if I put it on, I won't be able to put my foot underneath it to get closer to the lowers when it's cold. Anyone have one of these and feel this way? You also may be thinking, "it's not much work to put on and take off". Well as my luck would have it, I can't disconnect the pedal from the master cylinder because my Bassani Road Rage pipe blocks the pin. I got it off in a fit of rage, but it's not going back in without removing the front head pipe. So now that the pipes are removed I'm at a cross road, new pedal or no? If anyone had pictures of theirs that would be great too

 

I have the model for use with lowers and there is no way your foot is going under it. I'd post a pic but my bike is in the dealership for warranty work

He's the set up you have. Lowers with the Kury pedal. Monday to slide your Do it up. But when you close the vent I think there's e Pugh protection from the wind. And it does limit foot movement. It has its + and -. I like it. I'd do it again. Also. You do not have to remove your crash bar. Take off that foot board then you'll see 2 or 3 bolts that mount the assembly to the frame. Take them off pull the brake assembly out and it falls down and out of the way. You can easily access the clip in the back at that point. Took me 20 minutes tops to out that on.

 

It's not the crash bar that's in the way, it's the head pipe. I removed the bolts holding the master cylinder on the frame but there still isn't enough room. I helped a friend put an extended brake on his Road Glide with Fullsac pipes and it went on pretty easy. On mine I had to pry the pin out, which is normally not a good idea, haha, and now there's no way its going back in. The bassanis I have have a different curve at the bottom that are screwing me. But, the pins out now so I'm going to pull the front head pipe off today and throw the extended one on. I'll just sit on it in the garage and decide if I want to leave it on of throw the stock one back on. I definitely like the look of the lower peddle, I just don't know if I want to sacrifice room on the 280 dollar floorboards I just bought.

 

That sucks. I think it's worth as far as not lifting my leg so high to hit the brakes. I rarely have my feet flat on my boards. Usually just my heel with my foot flopped out. Or my toe on the highway pegs.

 

Good news fellas. The pin wouldn't go back in the way it came out, but the little bastard will go back in backwards. I think I'm going to go with the extended one. It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I might of lost an inch tops as far as moving my foot foorward underneath the pedal. I'll try to post some pics

I've always liked the look of those boards, but was concerned that they would transfer more vibration to my feet. What's your take on them Speedy? More vibration?

 

Ya. My boot will no way fit like that.
