I have first hand experience of that. We had a 'puncture' in France, which I couldn't diagnose. Proved to be a split rubber valve stem, quite probably due to using a right-angled add-on. That happened on Saturday and it was Wednesday before we got going again - don't ask!

Every friggin time I check/add TP I swear to myself that next tire change, especially on the rear I am going to do something about this. A couple posted different close fitting solutions I may look into. I swear HD designs their wheels with just the right size rotors to make a person with they had something else. Like a Triumph....

If your going to do it, do it right.
You install these valve stems at the time of tire replacement.
Complete valve stem replacements, not extensions.
