Road King won’t start...help please
back story
2003 Road King EFI
Sister in Laws bike has been sitting for 7 years and no one has messed w it. Picked it up and started to work on it a bit...got stuck.
Bike turns over over and will fire with ether. But will not start otherwise.
New plugs, battery and fuel pump.
Pulled the injectors and they they are spraying some fuel.
I have good compression and spark spark but it still won’t catch. I’m thinking new injectors but I am getting fuel to the cylinder so I figure it should at least sputter from time to time.
Any ideas?

Nothing mentioned about NEW GAS. 7 year old gas should be mighty sour and has lost most or all of the volatiles. You obviously have compression and ignition. Does that bike have the quick disconnect fuel line on the bottom of the tank? Those have been known to block fuel flow for no apparent reason. Disconnecting and reconnecting usually restores fuel flow. When you checked the injectors, was that with fuel from the tank using the fuel lines on the bike? If that is the way it was done, you also have fuel flow so the gasoline is still suspect. Have you drained any fuel and checked for water?

Sorry. First thing I did was drain the gas and clean the tank. The line is a quick disconnect. I’ll check that. I’m simply at a loss as how I have fuel, compression and spark but still won’t run with fuel alone.
I’ve also disconnected the dynojet and tried it back stock but nothing.
It’s a confusing beast.

Unless you have verified flow out of the tank, you still may not have fuel. After 7 years, the fuel filter may be pretty gunked up and not passing much fuel. In cleaning the tank, did you remove the gas gauge/pump/filter assembly or just turn it upside down? One more thing I would try before major disassembly is a fuel system cleaner (mixed appropriately for the quantity of fuel in the tank.) Sea Foam is popular, as is Techron. I like Berryman's Chemtool. It has some nasty stuff in it so don't use more than the right amount proportional to your fuel quantity. The fact that it fires with an external prime means you have everything needed to run except normal fuel supply. Fuel pump pressure and flow may be the next things to check but a healthy fuel filter would be needed for an accurate check.

Getting old and the most likely things are sometimes slow to pop into my mind. If anything in the tank is plugged up, it will be the "sock" or strainer on the bottom of the fuel pump. It lives in the bottom of the tank where 7 years of concentrating goo would settle on it. That requires removing the gauge sending unit/fuel pump assembly from the tank to change.

You still have a fuel delivery problem. If the bike will run on ether but not when you take it away you aren't getting fuel to the cylinder. Verify pressure and a delivery volume. I suspect you are getting next to nothing out of the injectors. Carbon build up on the back of the valves could be absorbing what little is being delivered.
