Default Newbie w/questions

Good morning out there, this my first Post. I've got a 2007 street glide and after having a heritage Softail, I was looking for something with a little more wind protection but still looked cool going down the street.

I've got a couple questions, and I'm willing to trade Five-star meal for some info that might help. Being a chef, I can make that trade no problem.

Here's s a couple of my questions and I'm not new to the mechanical world, even though learning the two wheeled type is just a bit different than the four wheel kind.

I'm looking for a dash pouch but I don't t want to pay $129.95 at the Harley shop, any suggestions?

I need some touch up paint for 2007 street glide that's s charcoal. I've got a PPG store that's close to me, but there's s also a space age paint shop here in town where I've always gotten my paint. Any suggestions?

I've got bugs on my front faring but I've tried everything to get off. Alcohol cloth, warm wet towel, Windex, and I'm having no luck. I thought about taking some 2000 grit wet dry sandpaper, I just repainting that front faring along with some other touch up stuff that I need. Any thoughts?

I've got custom chrome wheels, and some of the crime is starting to flake off. Anyone have any feelings about chrome paint in rattle cans?

And then just some comfort stuff, I read about adding a garage door opener control to my accessories panel, but can't find any information on that, any thoughts?
And last thing, 2007 stereo which is stock, there's s no Bluetooth connection, so I'm wondering if I need to upgrade my stereo, what do you recommend, and if I don't upgrade my stereo, either some speakers out there - aftermarket of course, that would give me just a little bit better sound, and might be a little louder?

Lots of questions for the first post, and here in Arizona we're just getting to season where it's s nice to ride, it's s not 117° outside. Stay safe out there, and I appreciate any information anyone has.

JP

Looks like posting on the app doesn’t translate well....won’t do that again. Sorry folks.

#1,look on this forum forum for a used windshield pouch(saw some for a reasonable price ). #2,try peroxide for the bugs.#3, when the chrome starts to peel, you can either re-chrome or powdercoat them.the chrome paint will look like ****!!! Stick a remote for your garage door in the pouch when you get one.as far as stereo stuff,I'm the wrong person to give any info.ok,where's my 5 star meal? I live in queen creek,do you deliver?lol.

I would recommend an Aquatic AV stereo for you bike. It's plug and play and still utilizes the hand controls. No mods needed to install. It has more power than the stock unit and is completely waterproof. Get the better one so you can load music on a USB jump drive and plug it into the USB port for all the music you need. It also has Bluetooth and an AUX port for different music options.

Welcome to the forums from the west coast of Michigan by the big lake. That's quite a laundry list of questions. On this forum a lot of people use a 50/50 mix of water and hydrogen peroxide for bugs. I usually lay a wet rag on the bugs for a few minutes to soften then apply some elbow grease to clean. There a site called E-Glide Goodies, they might have a pouch you are looking or try one of the sponsors "Cap'n Itch" for your leater goods. Again welcome.

Default Rain X for Plastic

I use Rain X for plastic on my windscreen. Bugs come right off using only water.

I agree with hat most have said. Especially the big NO on rattle can chrome.

On the radio. That depends on what you want. The AV Aquatic is by all reports a good system.
But personally I want to retain the stock radio / look. Bluetooth can be added to your stock radio and even have it controlled by the hand controls and display in the radio. It's an add on module and will fit bikes up to 2013 if you ever upgrade. You can see it on the Iron Cross web site along with other mods they can make to the stock radio.
