Default New Cruisers for the 2008 Model Year

Looks like HD is adding two new cruisers to the 2008 model year. An anniversary edition Road King and Ultra Classic. You can learn a lot from government documents.

hmmm, do we have the first signs of a change? And I have also read in print that the FLHRS is going bye bye. Guess we shall see.

Could be that the petition was submitted before the decision was made to discontinue the RK Custom.

9 Models will be supposedly dis-continued, including the FLHRS, FLSTS, FXDWG, FXST, FXSTD, VRSCR, VRSCX, XL50 and the 883R. Hopefully we will see the XL883R replaced with the XR1200R.The XL50, VRSCX were limited and will probably not return. Look for the others to be replaced with something else. Also look for the 105th Anniversary Ultraand Road King Classic. Minor or no engine mod's as they are still classified as 1584cc.We should see wide band 02 sensors vs the narrow band of 07.
On the wildest side, if we were to see a "wet bagger," might end up inRoad King Custom styling and trim. I would also predict with the success of the Nightster we will see a similar version in the Softail or Dyna. I did hear a dealer mentioning not to have any 2007 Dyna's on the floor when the 2008's are released. Possibly big changes there again.

There are several threads with similar documents floating around. I wouldn't be using them as a source of information. I'd venture to say they are simply submitted paper work with the blanks filled in. By listing all of the models HD is covered. Should they decide to drop a model, no big deal. It would be easier to remove a model from the paperwork or model lineupthan it would be to add one after it has been submitted.
