Default Road King Classic rear fender upgrade

Looking to solve the tail light license plate ugly problem on my beautiful 2009 RKC, was wanting to go the bolt on CVO Style Rear Fender System but in fitting it excludes FLHRC, can anybody tell me why? and what I can do to correct it.

Looks like you already have one, so just make it fit! Harley tends to be very cautious with what they say will fit. It can be as simple as a difference in wiring connectors, or may be something to do with mountings, which with a little imagination and effort can be worked around. It's our duty to prove that stuff for other models will/can fit!

Could it be a difference in the spacing of hard and leather covered bags?

What is the part number of the CVO kit?

Are those your ones in the photo?

I'm speculating, but the difference in taillights would be my guess. Because you have a middle light, your turns are probably flash only - not run-brake. As Graham mentioned, I'd wager it's the connectors - which could be addressed with a Run-Brake-Turn connector.

One this is absolutely certain - it isn't the bags. How do I know? Because the hard bags and leather-look bags are completely interchangeable. And because I actually own a bagger too!!

That pic came from a "baggers" article. CVO Style Rear Fender System-59500105BEO is the part number. Thanks for the input.
The tail light run, that sounds possible for sure but there wouldn't be any difference between a road king and a road king classic (I think).
The "baggers" article does the conversion on a regular road king.

I agree, I wouldn't see a difference - if it does the Road King, I can't imagine it wouldn't work equally for a RKC...

I suppose you could check other related part numbers, e.g. for the wiring harnesses.

I guess my next question is do I need to purchase Harley Davidson Chinese plastic at $825 (Boardtracker http://www.boardtrackerharleyonline....em-59500105beo) or Ebay Chinese plastic $469 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-CVO-R...3D222550783958)

As in, they both probably came out of the same factory?

In fairness, the Chinese one does say it's fender is made out of "Iron". I guess they mean steel.

A couple of clicks finds an H-D takeoff for $300 but for those prices new, you could probably do it properly and have the fillers welded on your own fender in steel, and then repainted.

What is your priority, moving/removing the light and turn signal assembly, the fillers, or what?

I linked to a German guy who had done a similar job recently, starts about half way down.

We're heading into Winter now, you have the time to try ingenuity and end up with something unique instead.
