I need to replace the rear tire on my 05 Standard and looking at the bias Venom. Any thoughts and comments on this tire? Wondering if I can fit the 150 on my bike, but cannot find any tire specs to compare it to my stock Dunlop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

I ran the Venoms on my Sporty and they made a world of difference, but I also ran the Metzlers . They are both great tires . I havent changed my tires on my Ultra yet , but when I change them , I will probably go with the Metzlers. I wouldntbuy any other tires except these two. Good luck.

 

I had them on my FLCTCI, and found they ran really well. Great handling, decent wear.
The only knock I heard about them was of their tendency to come off the rim
if you had a flat. Not sure if thats true though.

ive been running the venoms for about 3 years on my 01 standard and no complaints. it would be nice if they wore as good as the dunlops but the venoms are a softer rubber. when it come to riding in the rain, i feel better on the venoms. not sure about going to the 150, i was told a 140 was about the max then you might have an issue with the belt. keep us posted.

I ran a Venom on a Fatboy. Pretty soft. Have a few friends that absolutely swear by their Metzlers......and I think I'll go that direction next time I'm buying.

 

If I want to stay with an Avon tire, should I consider the HL26 Roadranger over the Venom?

 

venoms do well on touring bikes been using them since 99'

It's not about the mileage, it's all about the ride and handling in my book.
I just put ona setMetz's last week and love them. After i wear them out I might try the Venom's, heard good things about them.
