And the throttle by wire bikes don’t have one, right?

I took it down to Legends Motorcycle Emporium. They are pretty sure the spring did not come off my bike. I will feel better if I figure out the source but I guess if I don’t, I’ll try not to let it worry me. Thanks everyone for your input. If anybody else has any ideas, I welcome them.

I have seen that spring in passenger floorboards along with a ball bearing.

That's one of the springs Harley put on the engine, along with a nut and bolt, just to mess with people and get them into the service dept.
