This might help you get it aligned up, I had a similar experience and as OP have said a flat screwdriver will help.

the copper tubbing or steel brake line 1/4 inch works just as well. just squeeze about four inches flat in a vice. slide it down in switch it will bottoms out on the missaligned tumbler turn it counter clockwise with a little pushing pressure until it drops on into tumbler. they will be allghned. if that doesn't work go clockwise intil it drops down in.
