Got a new tank for my 17' Street Glide and moved the hugely complicated fuel pump and less complicated fuel gauge sensor/float over to the new tank. When I Last used the gauge on the old tank the tank was 3/4 full. After moving it to the new tank and only putting in 1 gallon of gas the gauge still read 3/4. I filled the tank all the way up and the gauge then read full but is not dropping? Do I have to reset the gauge some how or did I screw it up???

 

Those fuel sensors can be tricky, when I completed a simular project I had to fill up the tank and ride it for about 125 miles to get it low then fill it back up again and it was more accurate. After 125 it still showed 3/4 which isnt accurate obviously but after I filled her back up and ran her some more it went fine.
