Thanks guys, $270 seemed like robbery plus the tubes, rim band and balancing. That's why I asked here.

Looks like I have to find a place that can put them on near me.

Very comforting knowing that the forum gestopo is on patrol tonight keeping us all safe from those evil trolls that trick us into answering their questions without being a-holes...I'll sleep well tonight. To answer your question find a good indy and take your business there...buy the tires from them. It might cost you a few more bucks but it builds a relationship with them that will surely pay you dividends down the road...here's an example for you...picked up a nail in my back tire ...headed to my indy...pulled up around 4 pm on a friday, he pulled me right in onto the lift and two guys started to work on it...there's 2 brothers that own the place and the one guy calls me outside and let me ride his ultra with a 117 that he built. Now that's what i call a waiting room. I've been going there for about 20 years and that's the benefit of building a relationship with a good shop.

Guess I need to find me a good Indy somewhere close. I thought the tire prices were insane. 2 tires cost as much as 4 on my truck.

I have been ordering my tires from DennisKirk.com and having them installed at one of the local HD dealerships. Usually installed for $50-$100 each depending if they are running a special. Good luck.

I have a Yamaha dealer close to my home. I order my tyre(s) from them, they tell me when they get them, I take my wheel(s) in and drink coffee while they fit and balance. Many bike shops will/should do the same. There are many ways of buying tyres and getting them fitted.

Bought my Commander 2 set from 2wheel.com for a great price and free shipping - had them in 3 days. Only got about 25 miles on them so far but I can tell a difference from the original Dunlops

Up here tires and mounting are a lot more expensive. 2 tires delivered to my door is *bout 400 bux. I mount them myself old school with tire iron. Dealer charges 1000 bux if I drop off the bike. If I bring in the lose rims it's 850. They won't mount tires they don't sell. Neither will my local indy.

If you want whitewalls..your choices are more limited. I like Dunlop American Elite. I get 15,000 plus out of them and on my third set @ 38,000.
I'm not afraid to go to the HD dealer and ask them to match...come close to the lower prices.
