Default Wide open throttle in top gear anyone????

Quick question for you guys/gals. I have an 05 EG Classic with 1 3/4 rush slip ons, S/Eagle Air Clnr and Power Cmndr. I installed it all about 3 weeks ago and all seems really good. Yesterday I was in 5th gear (and I think I was going uphill if I remember correctly) anyway I rolledopened the throttle all the way and the I could hear the bike sucking air like an old GTOthrough the A/clner but it didn't reallygo anywhere. It just held like 55-60 mph. I didn't notice the rpm's. Is this normal or should I screw with the fuel setting making it richer in the PC3 program or just leave it. I don't know that its a problem but I just thought I'D ask you guys if this is what happens on your bike or maybe if you want to try it while your out riding and see. I'd bet if I downshifted to match the rpms better to the load it likelywould have revved and ripped.Stay safe.

At 55-60 in 5th, if I open the throttle all the way,my bike pulls like a freight train.

Not normal I'd say as my E-Glide is still stock and if I'm doing 55-60 and roll it open, it'll accelerate with no problem.

Did you tune your PCIII yourself, or did you have a dyno tune done? Sounds, to me, like you have a flat spot in your PCIII mapping at full throttle. I would suggest review your dyno sheet (if you did one) and see where the HP and TQ curves are at 2500-2800 RPM.

I agree with the other folks, that it's not normal to be sucking air at full throttle.

My stocker was like that, but not anymore. I added a 107" kit, and now I can climb mountains and still accelorate in 6th gear.

No downshifting required!

Maybe your clutch is slipping...it should still pull through the power band.

You might check the crankcase to see if it's loaded up with oil if your doggy over 2800 rpm. It's a quick and easy check.

How steep was the hill? On a freeway hill they max at 7%, 2 lane hills can be steeper. Most stockers shift down a gear to get their r's up if riding 2-up. You can pull out of it with out downshifting but it's hard on the bike.
