2008 pipe fitment? One year only?
Hey guys, curious if I can get a definite answer here.
Parts catalogs list most pipes as 98 and up or whatever, with a wide range of years that fit.
HOWEVER, I have a 2008 road glide, and have been told by multiple people that 2008 is a weird year (true) and it has a few one-year only things (true) one is which is the exhaust pipe (not sure)...Something to do with the tranny mount I believe.
Anyone have a 2008 with a different pipe (2-1 preferably) and can verify that it fit on other years fine? Or that it did NOT?
Thanks! Don't want to make an expensive mistake here.

I have a 2008 SuperTrapp system on my 1990 Glide. What makes the systems for 2008 and some 2007 bikes different is the inclusion of O2 sensor holes, thats all, shape and fit are the same for bikes going way back. Earlier bikes like mine and for a few years later had a different fixing between pipes and mufflers to later models, which is why there is a break during the mid-90s. There was also a change in the shape of the primary casings, which slightly alters the profile of the left-side pipe.
Hope that helps!

that's not necessarily true about a system having the right size for the year bike. I remember shopping for my bike and reading the descriptions for a couple of brands and some stated that the correct size bung would need to be welded in...I don't want to mention a company because I'm not 100 percent sure of which one it was but just keep it in mind. It seems that most of the ones I looked at were 08 and older and 09 and up to 13 on some systems...frame change in 09 and I think the trans mount was different.

If you are looking for a 2 into 1 pipe the D&D Fat Cat or Fuel Moto's E Series are both excellent choices for your 08. Both have bungs for the stock 12MM O2 sensors as well as the 18MM bungs for wide band O2 sensors use by the Power Vision and Thunder Max Tuners.
I've installed the same D&D Fat Cat on an 06 RK as I did on a friend's '16 Street Glide. Same fitment with the E Series. E Series makes a little better torque on the low end but both are excellent quality pipes with very nice fit and finish
