Default Fork spring upgrade - lower or stock height?

Looking for a deal on progressive spring cartridge, however, not sure if I should go with stock height or 1" drop. Does the lower setup offer any advantages?

Also, trying to find the best price. $330.00 seems a bit steep.

Can't answer any of your questions, just a comment. How badly do you NEED the lowering? Lowering has built in complications people don't see coming ahead of time. Various parts begin to scrape with less lean angle and suspension travel is reduced. Some have needed to modify the jiffy stand to make the bike secure when parked, that it isn't too close to vertical and could blow over on the other side. I have scraped and ruined a couple of jiffy stand springs when going over speed bumps two up, with a lowered machine you are more exposed to that even when solo. Lowering the rear makes you more exposed to the wiring in the rear fender being rubbed by the rear tire when crossing large bumps. If you still need to lower it, that's fine, just be aware of the compromises.

I guess. If ya have super short legs lowering makes some sense? The trade off is reduced lean angle and reduced suspension travel. Neither I am willing to give up.

I didn't really want to lower it, that's why I was asking if there were any benefits to it. So, why do people do it?

I lowered mine because of short legs. The reduction in ride quality more than offset the gain of better footing, so I switched back.

I went with the 1" drop model because I added a 21" wheel and wanted to bring it back down around stock ride height. Not sure how much difference in ride is between the the regular one, but I love the monotubes over the stock springs, no more nose dive while stopping.

Some lower their bike for looks, as if looking at your own bike matters more than the riding experience! It will sit down when seated on it anyway. Some do it because they feel it is important to be able to 'flat foot', which IMHO is questionable. I'm a short-**** and cannot flat-foot on my Glide or Firebolt, but value riding comfort and road clearance as much more important.
