That doesn't mean you have to ride a 50cc bike. It means 50 hours coast to coast.

You must get real goodmpg or gas is extremely cheap in NC! All your stops under $10.
The route was laid out with 9 specific gas stops you had to make at specific locations along the route. This was so the IBA could be sure no one cut any corners. Some of these were less than 100 miles apart. I also had a riding partner (on a Vulcan) who didn't have the same stamina I did and we had to stop a little more freqently for him. Longest we went between stops at one time was 150 miles. So you can do a IBA ride and not have to ride 200+ miles at a stretch. But I'm sure I could have easily cut 1-1.5 hours off the trip by eliminating 2-3 stops.

Congratulations! I did one last month (1053 miles in 18 hours) and I agree you should pick your partners wisely. We had to stop every 175 miles for gas and the guy in the lead didn't have to stop but every 300 miles. He almost had me and another guy run out once. Next time the bike that needs to stop most will be in the lead.
Surprisingly I wasn't sore on the Sporty and I'm looking forward to another one when i get the chance and I get my oil consumption problem fixed.
What kind of seat are you running? My brother has an 883L and absolutely hates the stock solo seat.

Need to find something comfy enough to make the seat a non issue on an Iron Butt run.
