On my forth set on my 13 Ultra Limited. They all do the same cupping. I change both the front and rear at the same time. Usually around 15k to 16k per set.

On the key getting stuck in the ignition front, he told me to take it out and spray the **** out of it with PB blaster. And if it still sticks to bring in in, and they will try to get it replaced.
Your service is as upside down as the information he gave you ... what a jerk. The mileage averages as he's stated are pretty much back asswards. On the pre 2009 baggers most were lucky to get 10,000 miles on a rear tire ... On the newer chassis ( bigger rear tire ) the mileage, in most instances, has almost doubled. Yes the cupping can be a bit noisy.

I have them on my 11 RK and I ride 2 up 90% of the time and run 46 LBS. They ride well, smooth and handle very good. When solo it is a little harsh but not bad.

I've gone through 2 Dunlops, 9K & 11K, as I recall, and the 9K was a late replacement -- the center tread was starting to disappear. No cupping.

Nice to know if I trade up I won't be replacing rear tires as often.

Simple cure , get Michelin Commanders ! Run mine at the rear 40 lbs like factory specs on bike. Expect 20,000 or more miles.

I am on my 3rd Commander 2 and they cupped just as bad as the factory tire running a couple Psi higher than recommended pressures. I have about 1200 miles on this 3rd one and am running 48 psi in it to see what it does for the cupping problem. I do ride 2up 98% of the time though. The previous two Michelins got 18k out of one and 5k out of the other, both cupped at around 3k-4k miles. I am going to try the American Elite or Avon Cobra the next go around.

Can this not be a result of shocks? I Always keep my Elite3's at 40psi. I'm 220lbs. Rear is cupped pretty bad. Front, none. All this on an '09 Ultra Classic.

I'm of the opinion that this is so. Back in the day when mechanics...not technicians...worked on them, it was generally shocks that were blamed when automotive tires cupped.

Pulled the rear wheel tonight, and was surprised how squared off the original tire is. I'll bet the new tire will ride like a dream.
