2008 RK Police with 55k too much or too beat?
So I am looking to upgrade from a 2007 sportster to a full size touring cruiser. I have test ridden a bunch of different bikes and found that the Road King has my favorite feel and functionality.
I have tested 4 so far (a 2002, 2006, 2009 and 2017) and like the 2009/2017 fuel injected models best. The size, handling, hard bags and power all fit my wants.
I am eyeballing a 2008 Road King FLHR FLHP with 55k miles from a dealer in Tampa for $6000.
Here are my questions:
Is 55k miles too many for a RK? I hear police cruisers are well maintained and run forever.
Am I better off with a standard RK without the police specs?
Assuming that I could get back $4-4500 for my sporty, I would be able to pay cash for the RK.
Here are pics of the bike

That does look nice. Another good thing with a police RK like that one is that it has a faring. FWIW my 2012 Limited has 47k miles, only major repair was last fall, on an out of state trip my voltage regulator and stator went. $900 and only 3.5 hours at the dealer to repair! I was happy to be able to ride in, and ride out so quicky.
