Default 2008 RK Police with 55k too much or too beat?

So I am looking to upgrade from a 2007 sportster to a full size touring cruiser. I have test ridden a bunch of different bikes and found that the Road King has my favorite feel and functionality.

I have tested 4 so far (a 2002, 2006, 2009 and 2017) and like the 2009/2017 fuel injected models best. The size, handling, hard bags and power all fit my wants.

I am eyeballing a 2008 Road King FLHR FLHP with 55k miles from a dealer in Tampa for $6000.

Here are my questions:
Is 55k miles too many for a RK? I hear police cruisers are well maintained and run forever.

Am I better off with a standard RK without the police specs?

Assuming that I could get back $4-4500 for my sporty, I would be able to pay cash for the RK.

Here are pics of the bike

Doesn't sound like a bad price. My 2009 ultra classic has almost 106,000 miles if that makes you feel any better.

It does, did you have any major repairs or replacements.

Try to find out which agency had the bike and call their service manager and they'll tell you if there any issues with the bike. I know firsthand, police are meticulous in servicing their bikes. Any slight issues are immediately addressed.

That does look nice. Another good thing with a police RK like that one is that it has a faring. FWIW my 2012 Limited has 47k miles, only major repair was last fall, on an out of state trip my voltage regulator and stator went. $900 and only 3.5 hours at the dealer to repair! I was happy to be able to ride in, and ride out so quicky.

Wow I like that cop bike a lot. It has character and will stand out in the crowd.

Looks nice. If you pick her up, may I help you spend your money? Two-tone paint the fairing to match the bike. It should have the 103. Plenty of zip with that engine. Enjoy your miles.....

Bike looks nice and the price is pretty decent. The mileage wouldn't bother me too much. The only problem that I ran across with the police bikes is when they decommission them to remove all the police electronics some times it's a hack job.

My 2005 RK Police had 52K on it when I picked it up, just rolled 70K two weeks ago. Buy it!
