Some of the fees seem high. Am I off base on that?

they need to separate plates and prep. I think they hide the most bs in there. That discount seems to be BS since you are only paying 400 under msrp. If they wanted to sell you a bike you should get it for 17863

That market value price is higher than MSRP. Sales are down year over last so you should be able to get a Road King for less than that. The fee structures are just add ons to make them more money. Two tone MSRP for an 18 is 19799

So loaded to me means the linked abs braking system, and security system. The see dealer cost site shows me that they are charging me 1030 ish over their cost. That is what I looked up for in my area.
The taxes are the taxes I get that. I'm concerned with the other fees mostly the 900 or so for the plate and prep fees. The 400 ish for the freight fees. Are they a little high? Normally any wiggle room? I wonder if I could get it for 20k Ordered? New to this so what is realistic and not a pipe dream?

So thats 15% off of MSRP. I think the doc fee and dealer prep is high. Plus they are going to hit you for the extended warranty and tire and wheel. How many Road Kings do they have on the floor. I know my local dealer still has bikes on the floor from 2016, so deals are to be had. Are you hard set on that color? Freight and taxes are what they are. Dealer prep, plate and doc fee are all negotiable. You have to be willing to get up from the table and walk away from the deal, thats how I am. I can't stand the back and forth bs with the sales team.

1 to on the floor, 1 in the upstairs storage, both same color and everything. I'm not stuck on the deal and absolutely have the ability to walk away. I was gonna check the other localish dealership tomorrow. This was at wolverine in Clinton twp Michigan. Other dealer is ray c in Lapeer.

Don't really have an opinion on the color. Base would be better I spoke if it was available, but, alas it's not.

Depending on the market, the price should end up under $20K.
With many waiting on the 18's, they should ****** any offer close to that.

I find the US pricing interesting compared to up here in Canada. A 2018 Road King here has an MSRP of 23,000 Canadian, right now that's about 17,800 US. And that's without any discount for remaining 2017's. Seems with the dollar being what it is right now US customers would do well to buy in Canada, but when I was at the HD dealer in Rapid City during Sturgis one of the sales guys told me US dealers aren't allowed to sell bikes to US residents and vice-versa.
