On a recent 100 mile hop with the wife, the mileage on my '96 EG was barely 30mpg. My 84 fxr gets well over 40. Are the EG #'s normal for two-up? Thanks.
No, that's unacceptable. My '96 RK routinely got 50mpg riding solo, even higher on the backroads at 50-60 mph. A passenger won't make that much difference unless you riding aggressively and very fast. Mine had a Thunderslide kit installed in the CV carb, which made a 15% increase in mileage. If you run a carb, it is obviously jetted too rich. If EFI, it is programmed too rich. Try a Thunderslide kit with a 175 main (185 if mild cam) and 42 (stock) low jet. If the needle and jets have been tampered with, you may need to change them all.

I get about 33 in the city going to and from work, and about 36 to 40 on long rides in the mountains. But I do like to twist that throtle.

My 06 (carb) stock got 42 with wife and 45 with just me.
With pipes,mufflers,big sucker,jets,etc.
I get 38 two up and 40 even running single.
Runs like a champ and cooler too.

Rode 500 miles this weekend with girlfriend and loaded bike. Getting 42-45mpg pretty consistently at mainly 60-70 mph speeds.

My wife and I weigh about 450 together and we averaged about 42 mpg on our last trip on the Ultra. We ran 70-75 most of the way.

Y'all keep in mind that the OP has an Evo, and Evos traditionally get better mileage than TC's, all other things being equal. I wish my new SG would get the mileage my Evo RK did, but it ain't gonna happen, even with all the high-tech add-ons and tweaking in the world. Considering that, his mileage is atrocious and his jetting is likely way off.
