Yeah, I'd take a year and a half to cruise the world if I won the lottery too! Congrats. I'd ride if 10-20 miles to warm the oil and tires up and then change the oils and check the tire pressures again. If there is no chaffing, dry-rot or flat spots on the tires, I wouldn't sweat it except for taking it easy re-braking her in. Oh, and welcome back.

We have three bikes that do a lot of "sitting" and I've noticed that the carbed (EVO) is the one that usually needs some TLC (carb cleaning) to make it run decent.
All have fuel additive in the fuel and all are kept on battery tenders.

Check the fluids, brake functions, tires for PSI (and date codes) and if you are planning to ride it and I'd personally install a new battery.

Thank so to everyone for the reply. Guess I'm overthinking it, which I often do when it comes to maintenance on the bike.

I try not to be finicky by all means as far as maintenance but, change the fluids at least.. as far as the carbs, it's a 18 year old bike...just make sure it's safe to ride. But it's your bike, your choice. Enjoy.

I would just throw some SeaFoam in the tank for good measure. Check the tires, tire pressure and all the oil levels. If everything checks out ride it a couple times and change the fluids. Done! 18 months is not a long time at all.
