I have been riding my first bike a 2012 Softail Slim for 5 years. I recently bought a new 2017 Street Glide Special. I have grown very use to my Slim but an hour in the stock seat on it kills my back side. I am curious with my new Street Glide what differences I should look out for and what might get me in trouble if I just ride like I am on my old Slim.

 

Just ride sensibly and within your limits - same for any bike, Slim or whatever!

 

The SG special still has a mediocre stock seat. I'm not saying it is awful, just not as good as it could be. Many have reworded their OEM seats, others, like me have an upgrade for when I am riding more than a few hundred miles. Good luck on your decision.

 

I dumped my SGS seat in 2 months and bought a Corbin solo tour and the wife is happy also the stock seat is fine for about 45 minutes if you can stand it that long
