Thoughts on mirage orange road glide
I've been searching like crazy for a street/road glide for the past few weeks. I just sold my ducati a few weeks ago and am looking for a well priced used touring bike. Only problem is that when the wife gets pregnant, hopefully by end of year, she will want the bike gone so I need to get my riding in now. Due to possibly having to get rid of the bike in 3 or 4 months (I will fight tooth and nail to keep it) I want to make sure I purchase one at a good price so I don't lose too much money. There is a local 2007 road glide in the mirage orange, 5k miles, for 8500/obo. I think I can get them down to the 7-7500 range. I was initially set on a street glide but the road glide (especially the price) is growing on me. I like the orange but the black stripe kinda bothers me. What are everyone's thoughts on this and is this a good bike to consider?

I like the bike, color and stripe. And the price doesn't seem bad.
As for being able to keep it, being a young family makes it a tough decision.
When I had small children my wife and I compromised. I got the bike but I had to have enough life insurance to pay off the house, pay for the kids education thru college and give her a big enough nest egg to raise the kids and help her through life.
True story, last weekend a yong man and his wife were coming home from an event at a local Harley dealer. They were hit on the way home. The young man was killed, his wife is in the hospital in critical condition. They have two little girls at home. Their family and friends have resorted to crowd funding for them.
I'm not trying to be morbid or preachy, just saying what we all know. Bikes have an element of danger and things happen that we cannot control. It's up to us/you to be sure the family is cared for in case the unthinkable happens.

Thank you ORadtech. I'm going to look at the bike on Saturday. Unfortunately, I cannot find another hobby to replace riding. I don't like golf and I get sea sick so the water is not for me. The bike most likely will have to go by end of year as my wife's father passed away when she was a young girl and she does not want to experience that again. But until that pregnancy test says she's got a baby in there I intend to thoroughly enjoy a nice touring bike.

...... looks like a nice motorcycle, s'pecially if you can get it @ the right price
........... sure you couldn't just put a thick cover on it when the time comes & stack all the stuff you'll have to move outta the house for the little one in front of it & maybe she won't insist you sell it ?
.... you know, outta sight, outta mind

Beautiful bike. If you are concerned about your family life with a new child, then I would suggest you pass. At least for awhile.
I won't let my wife ride with me. In 2001, my wife's sister and husband were both killed by a drunk....leaving behind 3 kids(5, 7, and 9 at the time). Watching what those kids went through growing up had a huge affect on me. As a result, I will not allow my wife to ride with me. I have a 10 year old daughter...she's an only child. I simply cannot risk both of our lives knowing that she would be left alone if there was a major accident. I ride alone, with plenty of money in the bank and insurance to help my wife and kid in life IF something happens. Once she graduates college...all bets are off.
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but, there will always be many, many bikes out there for purchase. Only you can decide when it's right to buy a bike that works for you and your family.
