Does the stock Air Cleaner on a 2003 TC-88 have enough flow to accommodate high flow slip-ons and 510 cams? Just wondering as I hate the noise from my K&N but don't want to impede air flow. Someone once said the stock Air Cleaner is more than adequate for a tc-88 bore.
Don't know if this will help you or not.
My 07 Ultra Classic, 96" is running true duals, slip ons and cams with the factory air cleaner. It was dynoed by HD and it's running a bit lean.
I changed my pipes first & there was a noticeable difference when i later switched over to the SE backing plate
& ditched all the plastic airbox crap behind the stock ac.
K&N offers a high flow filter for the stock air box. Some say it will not supply sufficient air while others say it will. Am I the first to ask this? The bike is a stock bore 88 RKC. with cams.

I know it's not an 88tc but as I said above my 96 tc has true duals, pipes and cams. It's been dynoed and is running lean. That says to me the stock air box is flowing enough air for those mods.
it1-xjs, that is what I have now with an outer 103 breather cover.

If you are running the Screamin Eagle backing plate and filter (or K&N equivalent filter) then you are running about the most high flowing filter you can get. The stock backing plate and filter, or even the K&N replacement for the stock filter, are way too restrictive for the high flowing aftermarket exhaust and especially with cams.
