Default Roadking oil pressure light

Hi, problem with Oil Pressure light on 05 Roadking. I have not had an oil light in the dash for some time now. oil pressure is good. I have replaced the Dash light unit, No light, I have now replaced the Oil Pressure switch, no light. not much left to change, can only be the wire? any ideas. Thanks

What are you asking? Do you want the oil light to be on?

Hello old chap. Yes, check wire for continuity, a multimeter is a good idea. Electrical problems can often be mechanical, in other words due to damage of some sort, or simply connected up wrong. Follow the wire right through and check any connectors are clean and tight.

Thanks grbrown, that was my thinking. its just one single wire from connector block at light to oil switch, so cant be much more than a broken wire surely?

DanRC. Yes I want the light to come on when ignition turned on and go off when bike starts, as it should, no light at all at the moment.

The Orange wire should bring power to the oil light bulb. The Green/Yellow stripe should be the ground for the bulb. The GN/Y wire is connected to the Oil Pressure Switch. The oil pressure switch acts as a ground if the oil pressure is low/none.

Default wire

I have found the broken wire on the oil pressure switch green wire. I checked it for continuity and both sections had it, light came on, I then soldered up the wire and re fitted everything, No light. have to strip it again and see what is going on, maybe put new wire right through.
