Road with mp3 player today . . . .
and loved it. I don't have a radio in a fairing, so I bought me a Sandisk Sansa e250 mp3 player w/ little ear plugs you stick in your ears to hear the music. I really wanted it for the FM tuner, but the 88 songs I have put on it are sweet, too. I put 90 miles on the scoot today and time passed pleasantly with the e250 playing. It will be going on all my road trips from now on.

I have a fairing mounted radio and I still like my MP3 player. I will use it with the head phones or play it through the head unit. Depends on the mood...
Now your ready for a GREAT set of head phones. There are companies that mold your ear and make a set for you from that. It is worth every penny. I have a set of Ear.Inc head phones andI wear them under my helmets with no pressure on my ears. The sound quality is top shelf and requires very little volume to drive them. On that note I was surprised at how well I could hear my surrounding noises. It's odd but it works. I think it just eliminates the wind noise while everything else is still relatively clear.
Your correct in how the time just clicks away while enjoying some tunes and riding.

I have the Road Tech handlebar mounted radio on my RKC. It takes input from my MP3 player. I love it! I used my old MP3 player for a while but wasn't happy with the volume (I'm not stereo savy but I think the old MP3 player didn't push out enough amps). Then I got the I River Clix at Walmart for $120. What a huge difference! It sounds amazing and I don't have tomax the volume on the Road Tech to head it on the hiway. The Clix is small enough to fit in my windshield tri-pouch and stores2 GB of memory.

Hey Bucs,
Just make sure that the MP3 player you are looking at does not have a hard drive. The Ipod I bought has flash memory. Kind of like the little memory cards in the digital cameras. They will not skip. I am pretty hard of hearing and had no issues with the volume, and I was with a group og guys that like to make some noise.
