Default Fiberglass hard bags.

I would like to find a set of hard bags for my RKC. I really liked the leather wrapped ones when I bought it, but now I think the fit is lousy. I ride mine to work daily, and I’ve noticed the plastic is starting to warp from the sun. (I’ve only had it 5 months, I can only imagine what will happen in a couple years.) I plan on painting my bike so I don’t care about scratches or paint color. The dealer wants over $1000 for new ones. I don’t do ebay anymore. Any ideas?

Swap meets. Be forewarned though I havent seen a decent set of late model painted bags for less than 450. I want a set for my RK custom.

Too bad ya missed these https://www.hdforums.com/m_128586/tm.htm

FYI 2005 and later bags arent fiberglass anymore, they are plastic. Personaly I think I would prefer fiberglass. If the fiberglass got a crack or gouge it can be patched. I dont think the same can be said for the plastic.

Call Rocky Mountain HD and ask for Rob in service, he runs a used parts business on the side. I spoke to him about a Clearview windshield for my Road Glide because he has the same bike as me and is in their ad. We talked for at least a half hour. He seems real helpful and loves to talk Harleys. Maybe he can help you out. Here is the number.

As far as I can tell they do. The quick detach hardware can be ordered for earlier models. There is a lot of adjustment in the hardware. If not, I can bend up some stainless gauge metal.

IF your still interested, my boss's dad is retired & takes HD's & converts them to trikes. We have several sets of hard bags for sale, was going to start putting them on ebay. We have a white set, 3 black sets & a blue & silver set. Also anything that is removed to make a trike is for sale also, bag guards, rear wheels, exhaust, rear fenders ...etc.etc. Let me know if anyone is interested. Most of the stuff is off brand new bikes. I enclosed a picture of a couple sets sorry about the dust.

Plastic can be welded for cracks and gouges by a competant body shop
