Default Pushrod adjustment with milled heads?

Hi all- quick question here. Got my heads ported, polished, bigger valves, compression releases etc. but also got them milled approx. .050 for more compression. I am running a .030 head gasket as well. I know the standard safe zone for a lifter is around .100. Question is, I have to account for the .065 reduction (stock head gasket is .045-.030=.015 plus the .050 milled from heads) when adjusting the rods, right? I have S&S rods with 32 TPI. I forgot how many thousands of an inch are in a "flat" but once I figure that out, i would subtract that from basic adjustment.

Just Dy double checking. Thanks for any input.

4 turns from zero lash to get to .125 pre-load. Approximately .005/flat.

Wouldn't I have to subtract .065 from that since was I stated above? If it's approx .005 a flat, that is 13 flats. Thinking about it that doesn't seem to right? Seems very excessive

Milling your heads and gasket thickness won't change the procedure for installing the push rods. If you take them to zero lash and then apply the correct number of turns the preload on the lifters will be the same regardless.

Maybe I'm missing something here but the reduction in height on the top end would only come into play if you were going to buy solid push rods.

You're using adjustable push rods so you would set them the same way as if it was all stock. 32 TPI = 3.2 turns = 0.100

Since you have bigger valves, milled heads and smaller head gasket I assume you checked your valve clearances already.

Wow! I feel like an idiot. It just "clicked". And yes, it was measured already. In the clear. Thanks everyone! Tail is between the legs now...
