Default Kendon Trailer, compelled to tell a good story

My brother and I love to ride but have grown a bit tired of riding the midwest and longed to ride out west, southwest, etc. Like a lot of people, we only have limited vacation time for riding and live where winter takes a lot of months out of the picture. We started 4 months ago on the search and research for the best trailer for us. Our thought is that if it's winter, we could trailer to warmer areas, if it's bad weather, take the bikes to where it's not raining.

We aren't overflowing with cash so I called Kendon to see if they had a scratch and dent but of course, they didn't. The representative from Kendon called me a few weeks after we first talked and told me about a wonderful lady who she and her husband bought a dual trailer a year ago. He told me that unfortunately her husband had passed and she wanted to sell their trailer. She asked him to give her number to those that were serious and passed it on to me. After a few discussions with her, I picked up the trailer today.

My reason for writing this is two fold. Kendon did not have to do what they did. They sold a trailer to this lady and her husband and could have said, go to craigslist, but, they didn't. They willingly gave up a possible sale for a new trailer for the good of this fine lady. I can guarantee in my 52 years of life, it's rare that I see this. They are a fine company and should be recognized for it.

My second reason for writing this is that with all of the crap that happens with this world, we don't have enough reports of how people actually get along, care about each other, and take care of each other. I had a chance to visit with this beautiful lady (mind, body, and soul), talk with her about her travels on the bike with her husband, and discuss her pains as she deals with the loss of her husband.

I guess the end result is that I got a new trailer for the bikes but learned a heck of a lot more, and found a new friend. Thanks for letting me share.

Great story OP, thanks for sharing.
I've had several experiences with Kendon (repair parts or ordering new things from them) and they've always been great to deal with.
Congrats on the new trailer.

Good deal. Funny thing, I'm responding from back seat on our return trip from our 1-1 /2 week long trip out to CO from IN, while a buddies and my bikes are being safely towed on my dual ride up Kendon. Tows like a dream.

we just got back from towing our bikes out to san diego from louisiana. we also have the dual ride up. i drive a 2016 sierra 1500 with the 5.3l v8. during the entire trip, we averaged somewhere in the neighborhood of 16.5 - 17 mpg. a little higher in the flatlands of texas and arizona, but less in the mountains of california. to put this in perspective, at 80mph, my bike gets around 39 to 41 mpg. now, half that (two bikes) and you're looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 20mpg.

we really enjoyed our rides out in ca. and not having to deal with the 107* heat across az was a plus

say what you want about trailering, but if we had rode, it would have taken us twice as long to get there (and twice as long to get back) which would have effectively made the trip a 'stop and burn'. at least this way, we got to enjoy being out there for a few days.... besides how fun is it to blast down the interstate at 80mph for days?
