Default 15A brake light blowing 2006 FLHT

Hello all!

I have my rear running lights not on, no brake light with either brake, and no left turn signal!

Swapped 15A fuse for brakes, popped instantly when either brake is used.

Replaced 3rd fuse, running lights on, turn signals works. Use brake lever blown fuse.

Replaced 4th fuse to trouble shoot foot pedal, Running lights work, turn signals work, use pedal brake. Blown fuse.

Top is off. My power vision is blinking and won't load normally !

Help

Electrical gremlins suck, unfortunately you'll have to chase the wires as it is obviously shorting out somewhere. Places to start checking is the wires from the rear taillight that run up under the fender and any other areas where the wires pass through a pivot point or could otherwise have gotten chaffed and are now touching metal.

Does your bike have any mods, such as extra lights, different handlebars? Have you done any work on your bike recently? Sometimes simple innocent stuff can have unintended consequences! We get a steady trickle of new members with these sorts of problems, which usually have a simple explanation when we get down to the cause. Tell us your story!

Have you recently done any work to bike, you have no taillight, and one turn signal that doesn't work, in addition to blowing the fuse when you apply either brake?

Put a circuit breaker in the slot while you are testing. It will save on replacing fuses till you figure the issue out. Replace it with a fuse once it is fixed.
