Default Uprgrading hand controls. Throttle cable problems

I have a 94 road king and am trying to upgrade my hand controls to 97 and up style. Any advice on how to change over throttle cable from screw in style on to the newer push in style. Without having to replace the cables. Any advice appreciated.

Just off the top, I think you're gonna be replacing the cables. I'm not aware that the attachment points are available separately. If they were, you'd probably spend more time trying to replace the barrel ends than it's worth. Cables aren't terribly expensive...although you will probably end up pulling the tank...or at least tilting the tank...to get it done. Not the end of the world as we know it, however.

I know they aren't, I just swore I read some where that the older 94-95 style cables could just thread in to the newer style. I priced out new cables at around 45 buks. Was just trying to avoid one more purchase but looks like it's not gonna happen.

Just an update, if you are trying to update hand controls but don't want to replace throttle cables. You can just tap the new hand controls to accept the older threaded style throttle cables

Not yet, only decides to tackle the project because while on a parts run I believe my regulator blew and fried my battery. So I decided to to the controls, brakes, regulator, motor mount and stabilizer, since those also broke, then I found my exhaust bracket for my Rinehart exhaust broke, so it was added to the list as well as a breather modification to get it out of the ac.
