Default Michelin Scorcher tires

Has anybody run the Michelin Scorcher HD tires on their touring bike? Harley just came out with these recently (I think maybe last year) in touring sizes and I was just curious is anybody has run them and how they liked them.

My brother has them on his wide glide and hates them too. He has 10k miles on them and need replace already so on a touring bike i dont see getting any kind of mileage from them.

I have Scorcher 150/80B-16 on my 2007 RK. 9000 miles on it and it's down to the wear bars. Just ordered a American Elite 4 to replace it. Won't run a Scorcher again. Too short of a tread life for me. Ymmv.

It will be interesting if the posts continue, but I would have guessed a "Negative" aura based on what I think are similar feelings of them being used on Dynas and Sportsters

Cool

Our Sportster came on the appropriate Scorchers, obviously not the same sizes as Touring models. I have never replaced stock Harley tyres with the same brand in over 40 years of riding them and while stock tyres these days are better than in the past they are still mediocre on grip and ride quality. We will change the Sporty over to our favourite aftermarket brand before long. The Scorchers are not bad enough to ditch before we get some use out of them, as some of their predecessors have been, but not good enough to fit next time!

Thanks for the replies. I have zero experience with them and was just wondering how they are.

I have a set sitting in the shed to go on my '15 right now. I tried the front out last fall, and it was much better than the dunlop that came factory, at least as far as grip is concerned. Which is really what I'm concerned with. I don't care if I only get 10k out of a tire, that means I change them every year instead of every 18 months. I would rather have a grippy tire. Unfortunately, it had a wobble I couldn't get to balance out so I had my Indy warranty it. There are very few tires for the 19" front available, even fewer are softer compound.

Hopefully Avon will get off their ****'s and get a 19 out by next year. Because that would be my ultimate preference.
