2008 Ultra have the starter pulled to install the new All ***** starter clutch.

Questions - to pull the starter clutch I'm assuming I need to remove bolts A and B for sure.
They only have a phillips head, do those strip easily? I don't see it having a hex head.

Do bolts C and D need to be loosened too? I am assuming so, but, hard to see the seam on the starter for which part of it detaches due to the powdercoat.

What pitfalls to be aware of? HD kit comes w/ a new spring? this part does not?

ALSO, the kit came w/ 2 o-rings. I am assuming one of them goes where I marked in the picture? it borders the primary entry, correct? are there other o-rings to replace? this one circled is a bit crusty and worn it looks like.

Oh, the only issue I ran into was very stupid on my part. I did not realize that they had already included a ball bearing packed in grease into the clutch, so, I dropped my old ball in there and reassembled. Needless to say, they pinion was sticking out the diameter of the extra ball. Scratched my head on that one for a bit then took it apart and removed the extra. LOL
did you reuse the original spring? the All ***** kit did not come w/ a spring, only the starter clutch. (other thread on here said HD kit comes w/ a new spring)

Looks like the little ball is buried in the shaft of the new starter clutch, hard to see it? was this your case too? I have to assume its in there as its grease packed and no way to really verify its in there.

thanks, I did read that yesterday, rereading it made more sense now that my starter is removed.

He stated the HD kit comes w/ a new spring, this All ***** starter clutch did not.

I am guessing using the original spring will be ok? bike only has 15k on it.

Thanks again.

I've had an intermittent hot restart issue with my 2012 fatbob since I bought it in 2014 with 1800 miles.
Raising compression with 107 kit made it much more violent.
Shop found rear acr was carbon fouled and sticking.
Replaced acr and all is well now. I think, I hope.
