No one said uncomfortable. They are firm, unlike the bagopoop stock seats. It's just that the more you use them, the better they feel and fit. I tried a Mustang once, and I prefer Corbin and leather.

Well I rodea Corbinrecently that was DAMNED uncomfortable andit wasn't new, either. After less than an hour I was crying for mercy. Felt like sitting on a rock wall. The Mustang on my FXRS is comfortable for as long as I care to sit on it. I never mess with success.

I don't get the break-in period either. Mine was fantastic right out of the box.

I also use the detachable HD passager backrest. HOWEVER, this seat does position the passanger a little further back on the bike than astock seat. The detachable back rest was okay for the OL, but with the tourpack on, she was cramped. A quick re-drill of the tour pack in the optional "rear" mounting holes and everything was, as Buckwheat says, A-OTAY!

I have never broke in a Corbin seat. I put it on and ride. If you are used to a factory marshmellow seat, the Corbin is going to seem firm, but mine have always been comfortable right from the start.

When I got my first one for the '95 Roadking I was riding a Mustang. I had a chance to try the Corbin before buying because a friend of mine owned it. I put it on, rode for 50 miles, bought it from him and sold the Mustang.

12 hour/500 mile days are not unusual for us, and the Corbin is the best I have ever used.

I have had Corbins on my bikes for over 25 years. Because they require some break in, I have bought many of them at a very reasonable price. Some riders won't wait. My Dual Tour also sits me back a little, which is a plus at 6' 5".

This sums it up. They can be had cheap on E Bay because people buy them and make a quick judgement.

I have had two including the dual now. LOVE IT

I emailed Corbin and the rep said that there was a change to an electrical harness under the seat so 06 & 07 require the new pan.

Beemer...have you checked to see what the difference is? I figure it might be relocatable...or failing that, I'd take a dremel to the saddle to make a pocket for whatever box it is.

I need the Corbin for the passenger backrest...so my backrest doesn't slip off the back.

ORIGINAL: Junebug

I emailed Dennis Kirk about the seat that is on sale for the RG. They told me it would not fit an 06 or 07 RG. Anyone know why it wont?
I just bought an '07 FLHTC and kept my Corbin dual tour and Hollywood solo seats. Neither fits the '07.

In '06 H-D switched to a pair of plastic channels under the seat to route the wiring. The Corbin seat pan sits on these channels instead of the rubber bumpers sitting on the frame.

I contacted Corbin and the only solution is to buy a new seat, and at $699 for a dual tour, I'm gonna pass and try something else this time. IMO their new mounting system sucks too, my wife's Deluxe has it and it is a royal PITA every time I have to reinstall the seat.
