Ok, it time for my scoot to get a new pair of sneakers. Does anyone know who mounts tubeless tires to factory chrome aluminum profile laced spoke tubeless rims?

Don't want tubes installed, anyone can do that IMHO, frankly don't see the payoff. It's much easier to plug a tubeless tire on the road quickly, opposed to removing rim to patch the tube.

Do your "Profile" rims say "Tubeless"... or are they just "Profile" rims?

Hmm...so what's the big deal about finding someone to install tires with those seals?

Well the first three dealerships I spoke with indicated it was a PITA getting strip to fit properly "so I'm told", that it was much easier to install a tube as that is the standard everyone has. I ordered this no tubes because I like the quick fix on the road, and really like the look of the old nostalgic chrome profile spoke rims as well.

Just looking for someone who has done a few of these with no problems.

Have OCD, after reading link posted in first thread that states:
• DO NOT install a rim seal and tubeless tire on a laced rim that is not identified as such.
• DO NOT install a tube in a tire mounted on a tubeless laced rim.
• DO NOT install a tire on a tubeless laced rim without the rim strip and rim seal installed.

Failure to follow these guidelines could result in sudden and unexpected loss of air pressure, resulting in loss of control, serious injury, or death.

I will not rest until I find a reliable professional to perform this task IMHO.

Seems pretty straight forward to me

 

There is a trail of comments around HDF about those rims and the challenge they present when tyre change time comes around. Firms like BMW build wire-spoked tubeless wheels, but rearranged the spokes at the rim to outside the beads. Doesn't look so good, but is a neater engineering solution. Others have a flange at the centre of the rim to which the spokes are attached, also not as 'traditional'. Unfortunately the H-D approach while clever is not so practical. Best of luck in your quest.

 

I reached out to Mike lawless who was working on a set of the those wheels, although it was about "Making them Fit" to see if he had anything to offer about tire installation. Hopefully he'll have some info
