Vance and Hines x pipe
#11
I haven't had a problem with the mount hardware, but I have had to repair the stamped sheet metal X-Pipe a few times.
Hole in the X-Pipe:
Broken pipe:
Don't get me wrong. I've gotten 67K miles of service out of them and they are still going strong. I've just had to do a few repairs to keep them going.
I'm CHEAP! If I can weld it up for just the cost of materials, I'll do that instead of buying new pipes. New pipes are expensive!
I do know that at some point, there will not be enough material left to repair and I will have to replace them, but until then, I'm good with a welder or torch!

I have the 2017 RGS (Stage III, 114 Kit) running Power Duals and Hi-OutPut Slip on's. I only have 400 miles on the bike so far but will be dyno'ing the bike soon because I have a 600 mile ride coming up this weekend (Hopefully). My friend had the same set up on his last bike, Road Glide, and put over 65K miles on them with absolutely no issues. This is not to say problems do not exist but the seem better than my Dragos H-Pipe so far.

Glad to hear that your Buddy has had great luck with his pipes. I know I'm an aggressive Rider and will not worry about laying into a curve and dragging the pipes.
I also have the Power Duals/High Output combination. They work well for me. I know I've put a lot more stress on my pipes than they are probably designed to take. I expect a few minor, but repairable failures. I'm OK with that.
I just started want others to be aware of the short comings.
