Just picked up a SG, few concerns

IMO especially on an 09/10, get both front and rear bearings changed out with a quality set..you dont want to take that chance with wheel bearings locking up while you are riding...period..
My last bike, a 2010 had them going out at 18K...glad my indy always checks and spotted it...he told me he always checks .especially those years..and if you notice something wierd, dont ride it, tow it or have it picked up.
If its being removed to check mounting/balancing, its off the bike anyway and they are not that much $$$...
Good Luck!!!

I agree with the front right side bearing failing sooner than it should having replaced two so far. Being that they are not expensive I changed the left side though it showed no sign of needing it to avoid the costs of removing the tire.
I have replaced the rear even though none of the three bearings needed it when I changed rubber. again since bearings are relatively cheap they will be renewed upon each tire change.

Alright, all issues to this point are fixed!
Gas leak ended up being the cracked top plate, picked one up at the dealer and swapped it out myself ---- Fixed.
Loose feeling bars were tightened up tremendously by putting the poly bushings in. Feel nice and sturdy now. The rubbers were shot anyways which helped make it even worse than them just being rubber in the first place --- Fixed.
Rough Ride. This one was the kicker... My jack at home failed so i ended up taking the bike to a shop in town, dropped it off to him at about 9:30 am not even an hour later he called and said he had the bike in the air and the tire had a bad spot, likely from a broken belt in the tire. Said he'd have a new tire next day and it'd run me about $300 installed. Next morning at about 11 am he calls and tells me that they had the wrong size tube in the tire, 15" on 16" rim and that it looks like the rim had a bad wollop. He was able to get a used take off from a custom shop across the street for $150. Replaced all that put it back together and bam, rides like glass. Cost me $450 but he took care of some little issues, inspected the bike etc. All in all im happy and he told me about everything he could find wrong or to watch for. --- Fixed.
Now I'll be on the lookout for stock header pipe and floorboards because it looks like someone had a low speed slide, then the bike should look, and feel, almost brand new.
Thanks for all your help guys

I think you'll be happier about your trade now. I rode a friends Victory and it was faster than my 88" but i like my bike's ride much better. I had a problem with gas getting in my face on my WG. It ended being paint where the cap sealed. I would have the problem right after fill and then breaking hard. The gas would be forced to front of tank, getting past cap, and the air would spray it in my face. A little sand paper smoothed it out so the cap seals perfect now.
