If you have any mechanical ability it only takes about 30 minutes to install. Take off the left side cover the plug is right there. The dirrections with the kit are great.
There's a bit more than installing the unit, like the electronics, installing the power switch, installing the new mode set controls, and running the actuator cable can be a bit tough..

But I have installed all the upgrades on my scoot, and to me it's a breeze, but to other folks it CAN BE CHALLENGING...

And if you can install Cruise Control on an 07 Streetglide in 30 minutes, I need what your on...
I can attest that this cannot be done in 30 min. on an '07 Street Glide. Well, maybe with six experts doing different parts of the job at once. I won't say how long mine took to install, as it's too embarassing, and unlike some I found the instructions poor. Some references to the manual were vague and I spent at least 30 min. alone searching for info on things like the pin assignments on the harness, which were not in the instructions and not in the CC section of the manual--but tucked away deep in the electrical section.

Timex: You will find what you need at Sec. 8.30, "Cruise Contol," of the HD Service Manual, pages 8-99 to 8-106; at least that's where it's covered in my '04 HD SM.

If you don't have a SM, buy it and it will pay for itself on the installation of your cruise unit; also, it will mean you don't have to wait for help by posting on the forum and hoping you get accurate information should you encounter difficulties. I know I gave incorrect information on the cruise topic last year when I posted that the "initialization" procedure is in the cruise kit's instructions, when, in fact, it was in my SM.

Also, if you do the installation, buy several c-clips, HD part no. 11193, and a couple of the brass ferules for the throttle and idle cables in the throttle grip. A c-clip comes with the HDcruise kit but it is easily lost and the clips are cheap insurance against interrupting the installationto find a dropped clip or running to the dealer for a replacement. The brass ferules are removed in the installation process and they two are small and easily dropped/lossed.

Lastly, ask the parts guy at your HD store to print out the installation instructions forthe cruise kit--my dealership parts guys do this for free--and I do this to determine if the installation is something I am comfortable tackling. Good luck.
