What kind of a sound system are you using?

Pictures? Wiring diagrams?

As it is a Road King I would suggest posting pictures of what you have (specific pictures). Never had tunes on a Road King. Other bikes yeah.

If its a JBL speaker then its not original to the bike.
Does the ipod work with headphones? If yes then try a different cable between the ipod and speaker. If that doesn't do it then, assuming you installed the new battery correctly, it might be time for a new speaker.

We're going to have to know what system you have. If it's just speakers with no amp, your iPod isn't going to be able to drive it.

An ipod can't drive a speaker larger than an earbud without some type of audio amp, which means a power source for said amp. So you probably either have an audio amp needing 12v dc or you have powered speakers needing 12v dc. Its very possible that when changing the battery a power wire to the amp or speakers was left unconnected.
